PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS

Our aim is to show the scale and facts of the problems we are facing in 3 key areas,

– Single Use Plastic

– Beach Use

– Plumbing

But we don’t want to just talk about the problems, we also want to focus on the solutions. The actions being taken around the world to tackle these issues, you can find these stories in our blog section.

WHY WE'RE BACK (2019)

(2019) Since the initial Clean Seas Please Champaign was successful, why are we back?

Since the changed regulations came into force in 2015, and we found out we had passed the new tests with flying colours, people have  become a little bit complacent. So slow but surly our water quality has been drifting back down, Reaching the point where we were once again under risk of having Red Flags Flying on our beaches, and bathing, swimming, paddling to be banned on our beaches.

You can see our Water Quality page for up to date information around current bathing water quality, please note that testing only occurs in the spring and summer months, so no data is published by the Environment Agency out of season.

WHAT ARE WE DOING NOW (2021)

This isn’t an issue than can be solved by a few people, it needs the involvement of the whole community.  So what are we doing? We are planning local events, engaging with businesses talking about the issues. If there are any businesses or community groups who are working towards sustainability and need an input, please get in contact.

We will be adding surveys and monitoring work to the existing beach events as well as promoting other local groups who have complementary goals.

You can keep up to date by following us on social media, or by visiting our events page to see where we will be next.
