Now that almost the whole globe is in a lockdown and people are advised to stay indoors and avoid as much social gatherings and travelling as possible. Living in isolation and unknown times, can not only be stressful but can be a bit boring at times when all the shows have been watched on Netflix. Personally, I have been in quarantine for one and a half weeks due to travelling and I haven’t been able to see my friends or family; however, I haven’t felt loneliness. Here’s my top tips on the things to do home:
Firstly, write a list of the things you want or always wanted to do but never had the time or courage. The things can be whatever from cutting the grass to coming up with a business plan. The world is your oyster, you have the power to decide. In my list, there are things as learning how to knit, trying new cooking recipes as well as cleaning the kitchen cabinets.
Secondly, call your friends and family, especially the members who belong the risk group. Even under isolation, you don’t have to feel alone. It is important to have some type of human interactions for the mental health and staying ‘sane’. Every day try to call at least one person, but the more the better.
Thirdly, try to keep up with a routine. Waking up and going to bed at the same time is important that takes care of the body and soul. Science has proofed that sleep has an implicit connection to mood and general wellbeing. Also, exercising is vital, and it is recommended to break a sweat three times a week.
All in all, the most important thing to do is remember to relax. Don’t stay on your phone all day, try to read as little as possible the news which can cause extra stress. Even though, you are advised to stay inside, you can always take a walk, go jogging or have #2minutebeachclean.
We are living under such weird and new situation and keep yourself and the people around you safe.
